The meeting of the Board Human Resources Committee was called to order by Joseph Craig at 9:20 p.m.

BOARD POLICY 218.3 Ð GANGS Ð Mr. Gross presented this policy for its first reading. A discussion was held regarding how to connect the policy with the Student Code of Conduct. It was further discussed how administrators and school personnel would enforce the policy. The board would like input from other groups and add the language of communication between the police department and the district. The policy will be brought back for a second reading. Mr. Gross indicated the draft of the policy would be distributed across the district to acquire input.

BOARD POLICY 801.1 Ð RECORDS MANAGEMENT Ð Mr. Gross stated that this policy establishes a mandated records management system. This policy assigns the Assistant to the Superintendent for Finance and Administration, Mr. Stanley Majewski, as the Records Coordinator and a committee to make sure the district is complying with the law. A discussion was held regarding e-mails, record keeping, and legality claims. Mr. Heske indicated that leading corporations delete e-mails after three years. Dr. Lewis asked if he would be able to bring a copy of that existing policy for our solicitorÕs review.

COURTESY OF THE FLOOR Ð Eugene McKeon, 5045 Harvey Road, Bethlehem, referred to Policy 218.3 Ð Gangs and colors associated with gangs. He asked if the board would be prepared to review the dress code and how this would affect athletic colors. Dr. Lewis stated as an example the color pink being worn by more than three or more students would be considered a gang symbol.

OPEN FORUM Ð Tonight was Diane RoweÕs last night to chair the Board Curriculum Committee Meeting. Loretta Leeson had questions regarding the enrollment projection report sent to the board by Mr. Gross. A discussion was held about projections vs. actual allocations, budgeting, and staffing.
