BOARD HUMAN RESOURCES COMMITTEE

MEETING MINUTES

MONDAY, OCTOBER 16, 2006

 

Members of the Board Human Resources Committee met on Monday, October 16, 2006, in the Dining Room at the Education Center. Present were the following school board members: Rosario Amato, Joseph Craig, Judith Dexter, Dr. Craig Haytmanek, William Heske, Charlene Koch, Loretta Leeson, and Diane Rowe. Also in attendance were Dr. Joseph A. Lewis, superintendent of schools; Stanley J. Majewski, Jr., assistant to the superintendent for finance and administration; and Robert R. Gross III, assistant superintendent for human resources.

 

The meeting of the Board Human Resources Committee was called to order by Mr. Craig at 8:33 p.m.

OPEN FORUM

 

1.   Mrs. Leeson referenced two letters and the apparent lack of responses to the concerns in the communiqués. Mrs. Leeson asserted a lack of response is a “common theme.” Dr. Lewis indicated he responds to all contacts and enforces his Cabinet to do the same and would put this issue on his “To Do” list to remind all administrators to make sure they return calls and e-mails.

2.   In the brief absence of Dr. Haytmanek, Dr. Lewis announced that there would be an executive session following this meeting for matters concerning student discipline, personnel, and litigation.
