OPEN FORUM Ð Charlene Koch spoke about the PSBA legislative meetings and recommended a strong Board Member presence in Hershey, PA to develop the legislative platform. Joseph Craig, Charlene Koch and Diane Rowe are scheduled to go to Hershey on the 6th to vote. The PSBA region eight meeting has been changed from the 28th to the 14th.

BOARD POLICY REVISIONS Ð Mr. Gross reviewed the six policies that were presented to the Board for readings. A general discussion was held regarding the extracurricular activities, home schooled students, and state and local testing. It was suggested to define the policy 137.1 to specify that home educated and cyber/cyber charter school students participate in applicable state academic testing assessments during the period of participating in activities. The language change will be included. Policies 137.1, 140.1, and 213 will be placed on the February 27, 2006, agenda for action. Policies 210.1, 220.1, and 808 will be placed on future agendas for a second reading and further discussion.

2006-2007 PROPOSED SCHOOL CALENDAR Ð Dr. Lewis introduced the proposed 2006-2007 school calendar. In cooperation with Northampton School District and Saucon Valley School District, a calendar was established that coordinated with transportation, holidays and with the private schools. Mr. Amato asked that a minor change be made to the calendar regarding the winter and spring holidays Ð Christmas and Easter. Mrs. Leeson questioned the conferences for elementary and middle schools and the reporting of failing students to parents.

CORRECTIONS TO SCHOOL BOUNDARIES Ð Mr. Gross talked about the boundary lines on the map and suggested the movement of boundary lines that would affect Freemansburg and Farmersville. The first boundary line change would make it possible for children to avoid crossing Pembroke Road to attend Marvine by going to Freemansburg. The other boundary line change would redistrict an area south of Freemansburg Avenue closer to Rt. 33. back to Farmersville Elementary School because residential developments planned for this area have not occurred. No students will be affected by these realignments.
