BOARD HUMAN RESOURCES
COMMITTEE MEETING
Monday, September 20, 2004
Members of the Board Human Resources Committee met on Monday, September 20, 2004, in the SuperintendentÕs Conference Room A, at the Education Center. Present were the following school board members: Rosario Amato, Joseph Craig, Dr. Craig Haytmanek, William Heske, Charlene Koch, Loretta Leeson, Diane Rowe, Julie Venanzi, and Margaret Williams. Also present were Superintendent Joseph Lewis, Associate Superintendent Michele Kostem, June Richardson, Supervisor of Child Accounting, and approximately one hundred parents from Hanover Elementary School.
The meeting of the Board Human Resources Committee was called to order by Dr. Craig Haytmanek at 7:00 p.m.

Recommendation for Elementary Boundary Changes, Part I Ð Dr. Lewis presented introductory remarks on the changing of elementary boundary lines. Mrs. Kostem reviewed a multi-page handout, which described the administrationÕs recommendations for reducing the enrollment at Hanover Elementary School by relocating students who are bused to Hanover School to Asa Packer Elementary School instead. The proposal also included changing the designation of a new area known as Hanover Crossings North, a 200 plus residential development north of Hanoverville Road, from Asa Packer Elementary School to Spring Garden Elementary School. Questions of clarification were addressed by Mrs. Kostem for board members regarding the distributed document. At the conclusion of the meeting, those in attendance were reminded that the Hanover parents would have an opportunity to address the Board of School Directors regarding the proposed changes at the regular board meeting of September 27th. In addition, Dr. Lewis reminded those in attendance that a meeting to answer questions has been arranged for September 28th at 7:00 PM at Hanover Elementary School. It is anticipated that a vote on the recommendations will be held at the November board meeting.
Dr. Haytmanek adjourned the meeting at 8:00 p.m.
