BOARD HUMAN RESOURCES

COMMITTEE MEETING

Monday, October 20, 2003

 

 

Members of the Board Human Resources Committee met on Monday, October 20, 2003, in the Superintendent’s Conference Room A, at the Education Center. Present were the following school board members: Joseph Craig, Charlene Koch, Loretta Leeson, Dr. Craig Haytmanek, William Heske, Julie Venanzi, and Margaret Williams. Also present were Superintendent Joseph Lewis, Associate Superintendent Michele Kostem, William Burkhardt, Joseph Rahs, and Joseph
Santoro.

 

The meeting of the Board Human Resources Committee was called to order by Mr. Joseph Craig at 7:47 p.m.

 

Open Forum – Michele Kostem distributed the results of the survey of the August inservice. She explained the format and reviewed some of the numbers with the Board. She also spoke about the comments that were attached. A discussion was held regarding the diversity presentation and the results on the survey.

 

Review of Policy Manuel – The Board of School Directors continued the review and revision of the District’s Board Policies. Presented for discussion were the 200s: Pupils. Each policy was reviewed and an explanation of the changes was given. Most of the revisions were minor and resulted from updating of the policies to conform to changes in the law. Several new policies were recommended by the Pennsylvania School Board Association to conform to requirements from the “No Child Left Behind” legislation. Dr. Lewis thanked the Committee for their continued work on the policy updates.

 

 

Joseph Craig adjourned the meeting at 9:00 p.m.
