BOARD HUMAN RESOURCES

COMMITTEE MEETING

Monday, September 15, 2003

 

 

Members of the Board Human Resources Committee met on Monday, September 15, 2003, in the Superintendent’s Conference Room A, at the Education Center. Present were the following school board members: Rosario Amato, Joseph Craig, Charlene Koch, Loretta Leeson, Dr. Craig Haytmanek, William Heske, Julie Venanzi, and Margaret Williams. Also present were Superintendent Joseph Lewis, Associate Superintendent Michele Kostem, and Assistant Superintendent Anthony Villani.

 

The meeting of the Board Human Resources Committee was called to order by Mr. Joseph Craig at 7:50 p.m.

 

Open Forum – No Items

 

Review of Policy Manuel – The Board of School Directors began the review and revision of the District’s Board Policies. Presented for discussion were the 000s: Local Board Procedures and the 100s: Programs. The policies were reviewed and minor modifications were made to selected policies. Mr. Villani presented alternative language for policies 121 and 129 regarding trip cancellation insurance coverage. After an extensive discussion, the committee agreed with the general content of the language presented but requested the administration to have Jeffrey Tucker, District Solicitor, provide the final detailed language. The detailed language will be presented for second reading as a change to policies 121 and 129 at the September 22, 2003 Board Meeting.

 

Update on August Teacher Inservice – Mrs. Kostem shared a copy of the August Teacher Inservice survey and informed the Board that the data was being complied and will be presented at the October Human Resources Committee Meeting.

 

Joseph Craig adjourned the meeting at 9:00 p.m.
