BOARD FINANCE COMMITTEE MEETING MINUES
FEBRUARY 2, 2004
Members of the Board Finance Committee, Chairperson Charlene Koch and Julie Venanzi, together with board members Loretta Leeson, Joseph Craig, Margaret Williams and Diane Rowe met with Superintendent Dr. Joseph Lewis, Director of Business Affairs Stanley J. Majewski, Jr., and Associate Superintendent Michele Kostem in SuperintendentÕs Conference Room A. Also in attendance was Dr. Arthur Scott, President, Northampton Community College, Michael Buffer from the Express Times and Genevieve Marshall from the Morning Call.
NORTHAMPTON COMMUNITY COLLEGE PROPOSED BUDGET FOR 2004-2005 Š Dr. Arthur Scott, presented the proposed 2004-2005 budget for Northampton Community College. The proposed budget represents an increase of 1.44% for the Bethlehem Area School District, or $25,059, bringing the districtsÕ contribution to $1,765,948. The increase will help fund additional full-time faculty due to enrollment increases, development of new degree programs in sonography, communication studies and surgical technology. The increase will also allow for additional support for students with disabilities, develop a student leadership program, additional support for web content management and preparation for Middle States accreditation review. The college will be increasing tuition fees by $3 per credit bringing the cost per credit to $91.
The budget will appear on the February 23 agenda for board approval.
