15. Exoneration of Delinquent Taxes - Board Ratification
INFORMATION:
The Bethlehem Area School District received notification from the County of Northampton Tax Claim Unit requesting authorization to exonerate the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 Bethlehem Area School District Real Estate Taxes on parcel #N7-14-10-30T. Our records indicate the following amounts are due: 2001-2002 base tax $143.52 plus $14.35 penalty; and 2002-2003 base tax $156.77 plus $15.68 penalty.
This is a property in which the trailer was destroyed and removed from the premises. The Tax Claim Unit is unable to contact the owner and has no recourse for tax sale. An examination of the county's assessment records reveals that the property was deleted effective February 1, 2003. A letter authorizing the county to exonerate the taxes on this property was sent.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Board of School Directors exonerate the 2001-2002 and 2002-2003 Bethlehem Area School District Real Estate Taxes on parcel N7-14-10-30T totaling $330.32.
The administration's recommendations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10a, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23 were considered together.
