RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE ADMINISTRATION - September 22, 2003
INFORMATION:
The district has been replacing broken 1/4 inch exterior glass panes in some newer curtain wall systems with 1/2 inch exterior pane insulated glass. The 1/2 inch glass is more durable and less likely to break. We reviewed the cost of upgrading the cost of the glass in the curtain wall sections at the new Northeast Middle School. The cost proposed by the general contractor warrants performing the work as part of the new construction. The costs for this change order are well within the project contingency.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Board of School Directors approves a change order in the amount of $26,652 to Skepton Construction to upgrade the Exterior Insulated Glass Panes in the curtain wall areas from 1/4 inch to 1/2 inch at the new Northeast Middle School.
The administration's recommendations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 10a, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 19, 20, 21, 22, and 23 were considered together.
