RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE ADMINISTRATION Ð June 23, 2003
INFORMATION:
The Donegan Elementary School Project was completed in November 2001 after a six-month time extension due to stability issues of the existing building demolition and an extremely wet 2000 summer. The electrical contractor, Medlar Electric, has agreed to closeout the project with payment to them of $43,929 for additional prevailing wage cost increases, field supervision, and field project costs. In addition, Medlar Electric has agreed to a change order credit for unused project material allowance and a telecommunication credit of $17,181.25. There was also a previous change order processed for permit fees of $1,649; therefore, there is a net cost increase to the original contract amount of $28,396.75.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Board of School Directors authorize a change order be processed for the net cost of $26,747.75 to Medlar Electric for the following:
a. Prevailing wage cost increase, field supervision, and field project cost due to
the project completion time extension ($43,929).
b. Change order credit for unused project material allowance and
telecommunication credit (-$17,181.25).
The administration's recommendations 1, 2, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 24, 25, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, 33, 34, 34a, 35, 36, 37, 38, 39, 40, 41, 42, 43, 44, 45, 46, 47, 48, 49, 50, 51, 52, and 53 were considered together.
