Director Leeson asked how often band uniforms are purchased, remarking that it seems as though every budget year, band uniforms are purchased. Dr. Lewis replied that band uniform replacements are on a six-year cycle. Every year one secondary school will update their band uniforms. Mr. Perfetti explained that we do not replace all pieces of the uniform all the time. A needs assessment is done. Basically, pants and jackets get replaced every six years. It is hard to replicate the exact same uniform each time. Mr. Burkhardt stated that all of the Liberty band uniforms are not replaced at one time. Once worn out, with holes, uniforms are discarded. The process is likely the same at Freedom High School. Director Venanzi suggested the possibility of donating the used, worn uniforms to poorer school districts. Mr. Perfetti pointed out that Freedom is replacing 104 coats, 114 pairs of trousers. The band has 170 to 180 members. ROLL CALL RECOMMENDATION 29 Director Craig moved the administration's recommendation 29. Director Venanzi seconded the motion. The question was called and roll call was as follows: Yea, Directors Leeson, Venanzi, Williams, Craig, Gallagher, Haytmanek, Heske, and Koch - 8. Motion passed 8 - 0.
