20. Realignment of Middle School Boundaries - Correction
INFORMATION:
The agenda item approved by the Board of School Directors on February 24, 2003, regarding the change in middle school boundaries contained an error regarding Williams Street. The agenda item stated that both sides of Williams Street would be changed. In actuality, the realignment that was enacted in September 2001 only changed the even side of Williams Street for the 400, 600, and 700 blocks. Therefore, the recommendation for the boundary realignment on the February 24, 2003, board agenda should have read to include only the even sides of the 400, 600, and 700 blocks of Williams Street, not both sides. All information reviewed with the board was based on reversing the 2001 realignment.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Board of School Directors authorize the alteration of the following middle school boundary:
a. That the boundary that separates Broughal Middle School and East Hills Middle School be altered from its current dividing line of Hayes Street and be moved east to Williams Street. The realignment includes the even sides of the 400, 600, and 700 blocks of Williams Street.
The administration's recommendations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 30, 31, and 32 were considered together.
