8.        Authorization to Add Positions from Budgetary Reserve

 

 

INFORMATION:

 

Budgetary Reserve includes funds for unanticipated changes in school programs and enrollment increases. Due to an increase in the number of students in the beginner level of English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) at Liberty High School, it is necessary to divide the group in half for two instructional periods each day for oral language and reading. This will require an additional part-time teacher for the second semester.

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

That the administration be authorized to add a .6 ESOL teacher to Liberty High School at an approximate cost of $12,700 for the remainder of the 2002-2003 school year.
