5.      Pennsylvania Department of Education Self-Certification

Approvals - Various Capital Improvement Projects

 

 

INFORMATION:

 

At the October 15, 2001, meeting of the Board of School Directors, bond funds were approved to implement capital improvement projects. The administration needs to submit the attached Self-Certification Applications for Non-Reimbursable Construction Projects to the Pennsylvania Department of Education.

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

That the Board of School Directors authorize the administration to submit the attached Self-Certification Applications for Non-Reimbursable Construction Projects to the Pennsylvania Department of Education for approval for the following capital improvement projects:

 

§       Paving/Concrete Repairs and Miscellaneous Site Work at the following:

-       Asa Packer Elementary School

-       Liberty High School (Grenadier Boulevard parking lot)

-       Rosemont Building

-       Thomas Jefferson Elementary School

§       Masonry Wall Repairs (water proofing/caulking) at the following:

-       Calypso Elementary School

-       Farmersville Elementary School

-       Fountain Hill Elementary School

-       Freedom High School

-       Governor Wolf Elementary School

-       Hanover Elementary School

-       Lincoln Elementary School

-       Thomas Jefferson Elementary School

§       Asa Packer Elementary School and Freedom High School Window Replacement/Repair

§       Asa Packer Elementary School and Freedom High School Miscellaneous HVAC Repairs

§       Freedom High School Auditorium Sound System Installation

§       Freemansburg Elementary School Installation of Active Dehumidification System

§       James Buchanan Elementary School Main Sewer Line Replacement

§       Liberty High School Commons Building and Nitschmann Middle School Flooring Repairs/Replacements

§       Northeast Middle School and Broughal Middle School Backflow Preventor

§       William Penn Elementary School Repair of Elevated Concrete Walkway

 

A copy of the Self-Certification Applications are available in the Business Office of the Education Center, 1516 Sycamore Street, Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, for review.

 

The administration's recommendations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11,
12, 13, 14, 16, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, and 27 were
considered together.
