20. Children's Trust Fund (CTF) Grant
INFORMATION:
The Department of Public Welfare is requesting proposals for the Children's Trust Fund Grant (CTF). The purpose of the Children's Trust Fund grant is to promote child abuse and neglect prevention programs in community-based settings in order to prevent the maltreatment of children in the Commonwealth. The intent of this grant is to provide funding for organizations to develop new and innovative prevention-focused programs. CTF grants are not intended for intervention-based or treatment services that focus on symptomatic behaviors that are the result of specific incidents of child abuse and neglect, but rather for the primary prevention of child abuse and neglect.
The maximum CTF grant award is $60,000 for the first year and $45,000 for the second and third years. The renewal of CTF grants each year will be contingent upon the availability of funds and successful evaluation of the project.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the adminstration be authorized to submit a $60,000 CTF grant to the Department of Public Welfare to add child abuse and neglect prevention services to the Bethlehem Area School District family centers.
The administration's recommendations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31, 33, and 34 were considered together.
