INFORMATION:
IDEA funds can be used for changes in special education programs due to enrollment increases or student needs. Due to the needs of the students in the emotional support class at James Buchanan Elementary School, an additional full-time teacher assistant is requested. In order to provide for the inclusion needs of a student at Asa Packer Elementary School, a three-hour teacher assistant is requested.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the administration be authorized to use IDEA funds to add a 1.0 special education teacher assistant to James Buchanan Elementary School, at an approximate cost of $3,000, and a three-hour special education teacher assistant to Asa Packer Elementary School, at an approximate cost of $2,000, for the remainder of the 2001-2002 school year.
The administration's recommendations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 29, 30, 31, 33, and 34 were considered together.
