WITH TEAMSTERS LOCAL UNION NO. 773 AFFILIATED WITH THE INTERNATIONAL BROTHERHOOD OF TEAMSTERS COVERING CLERICAL/SECRETARIAL EMPLOYES AND THE
BOARD OF SCHOOL DIRECTORS
1. ARTICLE I, DURATION OF AGREEMENT: The terms of this Agreement shall begin January 1, 2002, and shall continue in full force and effect until December 31, 2004.
2. ARTICLE VI, SENIORITY, VACANCIES AND LAY-OFF, Section 4: Add the following: The administration agrees to post all job vacancies, including new positions, at designated places for seven work days, at which time members of the bargaining unit may apply for consideration in filling the position. After having been awarded a lateral transfer, an employe must remain in that position for one full year. New hires must remain in their position for one full year following their probationary period. If an employe or a new hire within the one full year indicates an interest in a vacancy; and there are no bids, the district, in its discretion, may award the position to the employe.
3. ARTICLE X, SICK LEAVE AND SEPARATION BENEFITS, Section 2: Add a $25 increase respectively to each of the three years of the Agreement.
4. ARTICLE X, SICK LEAVE AND SEPARATION BENEFITS, Section 6:
Credit for unused sick leave: Employes who retire will receive unused sick leave credit not to exceed 80 days at $35 per day during the first year of the Agreement, 85 days at $40 per day during the second year of the Agreement, and 90 days at $45 per day during the third year of the Agreement.
Conversion of Unused Sick Leave to Health benefits: Employes who retire during the period of this Agreement will be granted the following options for unused sick leave:
Option 1: If less than the allowed unused sick days have been accrued, payment according to the amounts shown in credit for unused sick leave will be used.
Option 2: If more than the allowed unused sick days have been accrued, payment will be made for the allowed number plus all days in excess of the maximum allowed, may be used to receive health care coverage benefits, including the then current Blue Cross/Blue Shield (or other then current carrier) coverage and dental insurance, for a period of time equal to a balance of funds credited for unused sick days multiplied by $35 in year one, $40 in year two, and $45 in year three. The rate for the health coverage will be equal to the rate charged retirees for continued coverage. At the conclusion of the use of the unused sick days credit, the retiree would then have the option of continuing coverage at their expense, if not then eligible for Medicare benefits.
Option 3: If more than the allowed unused sick days have been accrued, all unused sick leave may be converted to credit toward health coverage as outline in Option 2. The employe's decision to exchange the severance payment for unused sick days for health care benefits must be included in the employe's notification of intention to retire.
Employes who receive health care benefits as stipulated in this section are required to continue to pay the employe's contribution toward their medical premiums.
