23. Contract for Auditing Service
INFORMATION:
The Bethlehem Area School District has retained Abbott, Davidson, Weiss & Company, LLC, to provide independent auditing services of the financial records and related business practices since 1996. The contract for auditing services expired with the completion of the June 30, 2001, audit, and the school district needs to hire an independent auditor. Since this firm provides quality services at competitive costs, it is recommended that their contract be renewed for an additional three years.
RECOMMENDATION:
That the Board of School Directors contract with Abbott, Davidson, Weiss & Company, LLC, for independent audit services for the three fiscal year periods ending June 30, 2002, through June 30, 2004. The following are the fees for completion of the annual audit and preparation of the financial statements:

Year Ending June 30, 2004 44,000
