16.      Summer Driver Training Program

 

 

INFORMATION:

 

The Summer Driver Training Program provides experience for students who could not be scheduled during the regular school year.  The district is reimbursed $35 for each student who completes the classroom program and practice driving.  State requirements can be met by providing six hours of on-the-road training.  A fee of $40 will be charged for students enrolling in this program.

 

 

 

RECOMMENDATION:

 

That the administration be authorized to:

 

a.  Provide a summer driver training course for five, six-day periods.

 

b. Hire three instructors for a total of six hours of instruction daily, at the contractual rate of $24.94 per hour.

 

c.  Charge a fee of  $40 to students enrolling in the program.
