11. Early Dismissals
for Freemansburg and Marvine Elementary School Students
INFORMATION:
Preparations to demolish the old Marvine Elementary School will begin immediately after the last day of instruction in June. A plan has been developed to move furniture and equipment from the current location to the new Marvine building. Early dismissals are necessary to facilitate the implementation of this plan. Families who express concerns about the availability of child care during the early dismissals will be addressed on a case-by-case basis.
In addition, early dismissals will be required for Freemansburg Elementary School (currently at the Bethlehem Steel facility) to accommodate the return to the renovated building.
RECOMMENDATION:
That
the Board of School Directors authorize the administration to initiate the
following activities:
• Dismiss Freemansburg and Marvine Elementary Schools at 12:00
noon on
Thursday, June 14, 2001; Friday, June 15, 2001; and Monday, June 18,
2001.
The administration's recommendations 1, 2, 3, 5, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, 25, 26, 27, 28, 29, 30, 31, and 32 were considered together.
