RECOMMENDATIONS
OF THE ADMINISTRATION – February 26, 2001
INFORMATION:
Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA) provides funds for special education positions for changes in programs and enrollment increases. Due to transfers, newly identified students, and the special needs of selected students, the district needs the following special education positions:

support teacher for Lincoln Elementary School

learning support teacher for William Penn Elementary School

a 3-hour
teacher assistant for learning support students at Donegan Elementary School

a 3-hour
teacher assistant for learning support students at Governor Wolf Elementary School

a 1.0
teacher assistant for learning support students at Farmersville Elementary
School

a 3-hour
teacher assistant for the multiple handicapped class at Liberty High School
-
a 3-hour
teacher assistant for the life skills program at Liberty High School
RECOMMENDATION:
That the administration be authorized to
hire a 1.0 special education learning support teacher, 4 three-hour teacher
assistants, and 1 full-time teacher assistant for the remainder of the
2000-2001 school year for the positions identified above. The approximate total cost for these
positions is $27,500.
IDEA funds are available for these
positions.
The administration's recommendations 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 16, 17, 18, 19, 20, 21, 22, 23, 24, and 25 were considered together.
