RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE ADMINISTRATION - April 25, 2000

Authorization to Expend 1998 Bond Funds - Fire Alarm System and
Auditorium Improvements - Liberty High School - Change Order


INFORMATION:


Bid documents for the Fire Alarm System and Auditorium Improvements Project at
Liberty High School included an Alternate G1 to refinish the stage floor. This alternate
was not accepted at the time bids were awarded. The stage curtains, however, are being
removed to permit all the other work in the auditorium to occur. After considering the
cost and work required to remove and clean the stage curtains, the administration is
recommending the refinishing of the stage floor while the curtains are removed. If the
stage floor refinishing is postponed, the stage curtains will have to be removed again at
that time. The general contractor, Walter Brucker and Company, submitted a bid for this
work at a cost not to exceed $8,100.


RECOMMENDATION:


That the Board of School Directors issue a change order to Walter Brucker and Company
to accept the Alternate G1 price to refinish the stage floor at the Liberty High School
auditorium for a cost not to exceed $8,100.
