         The Bethlehem Area School District has always been recognized as an outstanding educational institution with national and statewide recognition. Frequently, we are visited by our colleagues from other school districts who wish to learn about our programs, and in most cases, replicate them. As imitation is often a form of flattery, we are proud that we are ahead of the curve and set the highest standards for our graduates.

            In this, my sixth year as superintendent, I am still learning even more of the great things occurring in our classrooms as I visit our 22 schools, our SPARK Early Childhood Center, and our alternative programs. Our Career Academy is home to 120 students needing small class sizes and alternative learning designs. Our Project SKILL-21 laptop initiative, featured on this Web site, now places laptops in the hands of approximately 3,500 middle school students, 1,100 ninth grade students, and over 1,000 teachers. We have made technology the focal point of our educational delivery system, and we know our students will be prepared for a challenging high technology world.

            Our community is stronger than every and growing, as are we. Our stakeholders are not only proud of their schools, but also highly supportive. We invite our parents, grandparents, and community into our schools, their schools, everyday. Our pride is contagious, and we invite you to take advantage of all of the wonderful opportunities the Bethlehem Area School District affords its students. Our vision is that all of our students meet with success.
