The Bethlehem Area Education Foundation (BAEF)
is a non-profit organization created to help acquire and distribute
funds to provide for innovative program which supplement and enhance
the quality of education and provide students with extended learning
opportunities within the Bethlehem Area School District.
The goal of BAEF is two-fold: 1) to supplement
funding for programs which are already supported by public financing
at a basic level but which can be substantially improved by additional
private sector financing; and 2) to finance programs that might not
receive funding for traditional sources, such as the district budget
or state aid.
The Foundation is governed by a Board of Trustees
made up of members of the community working in concert with, but independent
of the Bethlehem Area School District.
The above is a short summary of the mission and purpose
of our Foundation. Rather than many other charitable organizations
at building levels within our district, the BAEF seeks to enrich the
educational experience for ALL students in the BASD by funding innovative
programs and initiatives. Our past funding has included leadership
conference grants, summer foreign language programming, outdoor Quest
programs, choral projects, scholarship grants, and the purchase of
musical instruments at 22 district buildings. |
